About
A little more in-depth:
I was born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico. History, folktales, and world mythologies have been a recurring interest of mine since I was very young. As a child, I would make up stories to understand the world around me.
I still believe deeply in fiction’s ability to help humanity understand and reflect on itself. I’m fascinated by films, books, and TV that shape the way we think and interact with the world and each other. I think a lot about the topics writers choose to engage with, what audiences respond to, and what these two suggest about the zeitgeist and culture they come from. I discuss this at length with anyone who will let me. I enjoy talking to people.
I have been known to douse people in fun facts and information I believe can be helpful for them. This has resulted in my peers asking for my advice on how to start writing or researching their projects, creating work plans and structures, and even trusting me in the revision process of their works. This is something that makes me very happy and enjoy doing, in addition to writing my own projects.
More often than not, you’ll find me with my nose in a book or scribbling in a notebook. My other hobbies include: traveling, bouldering, baking, buying trinkets and candles at local flea markets, and driving around my city. But honestly, usually you can find me at home reading and writing, or at the cinema.
